Struggling to use footnotes in the Debut Theme

  I am trying to learn how to put multiple footnotes into posts – footnotes that, when clicked, will take you to the corresponding number in a footnotes section below and then back again. I’ve tried following the instruction in this link with no luck.

  Sorry if this seems obvious, but have you activated Markdown first?

  If yes, can you post here your non-working footnotes code?

  Yes, I activated Markdown and yes I’m working in the text editor.

  Below is the code I’m trying to use, which I got from the link I placed in my previous post.
