Struggling with domain issues..

  Hello guys,

  I’m having the strangest issues. I’m sure I’ve got myself into this mess, but I’m really struggling to resolve this.

  I have cancookwillblog.wordpress.com
  I want this to be hosted at cancookwillblog.com, a domain I’ve bought.

  After messing around with mapping, adding a new wordpress plug in through my domain (instead of mapping to the existing one) and then having a whole series of issues with editing, it seems I have almost two sites. The one I want at .wordpress and one that I’ve tried to import into and failed…

  When I try to edit with, I seem to be getting two different results, with two different edit options! Help!

  Hi there,

  The process for using a domain you already own for a WordPress.com blog is called domain mapping. This just directs users who type in your domain name to the blog on WordPress.com, and shouldn’t involve using any plug-ins or installations through a webhost.

  You do have two sites, and I’m guessing you want the site at cancookwillblog.wordpress.com to appear when a user navigates to cancookwillblog.com, correct?

  In order to map your domain to the existing cancookwillblog.wordpress.com, follow the instructions here:

  Let me know if you have any other questions! Hopefully the domain mapping doc will clear up any confusion.

  Ah, thanks so much, I’ve bought the mapping option and I’ll now I’ll get onto my hosting company so they can add those DNS Name Servers.
