Struggling with TextArea Code

    I’ve been trying to add textarea code to my .com site. For some reason when I hit the save button, it strips out the textarea part of the code. Is there a way to make this work? Here’s the code I’m using…

    <textarea cols=”15″ rows=”4″ wrap=”VIRTUAL”><a
    href=”http://sharingzazzlesuccess.wordpress.com” target=”_blank”><img
    src=”http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/tt77/ColleenGainey/Lamb_125.png”
    border=”0″ alt=”Sharing Zazzle Success”></textarea>

    Thanks for your help!

    Why not just use a regular img src code with a link?

    The “textarea” HTML tag is not allowed at wordpress.COM. That is why it is getting stripped out.

    BTW I also just looked at your WordPress.com site and thought that you might want to know that stripping the name of your blog out of the Title text code will hurt you in search engines. There are themes that let you hide the Title text when you use a Custom Header, but the Blog’s name will still show up in the code. Tarski is not one of them.

    Have a look at http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/24/header-images/ for a list of the themes that allow you to have a Custom Header and Hide the Blog name at the same time.

    Wow…just got back here this morning!

    Thank you for all the help and advice. I really appreciate it. Didn’t realize that stripping the Header would hurt the search engine activity…should have, but didn’t. Thank you!

    I can always count on you guys…you’re the best!

    Warmly,
    Colleen
