  hello – total wordpress newbie here, trying to build a pretty basic site. I have two ghosty checkboxes that have appeared in the live site that I can’t delete in the editor. or when I do delete it in the editor, it’s not removing it from the live site.

  i have tried deleting the entire section – it still has two random checkboxes that I am struggling to figure out how to delete.

  Those extra checkboxes are most likely leftover code from an old edit that’s still showing because of caching.
  Edit the page, switch to Code Editor (from the three-dot menu), look for any stray <input type="checkbox"> lines before your question, and delete them.
  Update the page, then clear your browser and WordPress.com cache.
  If they still appear, add this in Customizer → Additional CSS to hide them:

  input[type="checkbox"]:empty { display: none !important; }

  That should get rid of them instantly.

  Make sure you revert this, if it fails. Always keep a backup!

  Also, if you’ve made changes in the editor but they’re not showing up on the live site, it might be due to a caching issue. You can try clearing your browser’s cache to rule that out by following this guide:

  you’re so kind for responding! I’m not exactly sure what changed but I tried your suggestion as well as clicking a few other things differently and it appears to have worked. I think the lesson here is to trust that the answer will come!! thank you!!
