Stuck at home
-
So I will admit right now, I am an idiot. Never built a blog therefore have never used wordpress, either. I jumped right in and tried to figure it out on my own, had some ‘ah ha’ moments, thought I was cruisin’ right along – bam – problem with my homepage. I, of course, followed those directions about making it a static page, yadda yadda… I have images where I would like the beginnings of my posts to go and there doesn’t seem to be anything I can do about it. I want to delete some of the content to move it around and it is not letting me edit it at all. I have read some other posts, though similar, not what I was looking for. Can I just unlink it and create another page in it’s place? I am not a “paid” user so I cannot use plugins. You know, everything that can be wrong is. And please – in the easiest terms you’ve got for me as I am not savvy. Thanks in advance :)

Hello there,
Happy to help you with this.
I have images where I would like the beginnings of my posts to go and there doesn’t seem to be anything I can do about it. I want to delete some of the content to move it around and it is not letting me edit it at all.
Ok, looking at the homepage of http://mywildawakening.wordpress.com/ can you walk me though step by step, which pieces of content you’d like to change and what images you’d like to move so that we can provide some step by step instructions.
Many thanks.

We can completely empty the blog, or remove your content and add the demo content back in.
Which one would you like us to do?

The demo content back in would be fine. thank you so very much. i do have one final question, however. my blog may be a bit racy – and i am a basic member cuz those fees are too high for me right now. is there any way w/out upgrading that i can put warning or an age verification, something like that on it? to protect myself?

Hi there,
The demo content back in would be fine.
I just need to be clear, if we do this it will remove ALL current content completely, and it won’t be possible to restore that content again afterwards. This includes all your posts, pages and media files.
Please confirm if we should proceed.

What people typically do in this case is to set a static front page on the site with the warning, and a button to proceed to the posts. In the end, that’s really all any age-gate plugin also does. It doesn’t actually verify the age of the person visiting your site; it makes someone aware of the type of content they’ll see should they proceed, but it doesn’t actually prevent anyone from viewing the content.
Also note that we’ve marked your site as mature, so it won’t appear in public areas on WordPress.com like suggested posts in the Reader. You can read more about our mature content policy here:

Oh that is awesome! Thank you for that. Thank you to whoever got my page working for me again :) and thank YOU for giving me info on mature content. Wanna do this blog for me? I really don’t know what I am doing! :) lol.
Thanks again you guys!!
Take care :)
