Stuck between 2 themes, can't use one, can't edit the other.

I created blog using Diary for a theme. It worked fine. A couple weeks later I decided I liked Choco theme better for my blog. I exported the Diary data and imported it into Choco. When I access wordpress as administrator, it shows my theme as being Choco. But when I access my webpage, http://sjml.net46.net/blog/ the Diary theme is present with old data. I cannot get Choco to come up, I cannot update data on the Diary theme – basically I’m stuck

You have posted to the wrong support forum. We cannot help you here at WordPress.com with that site as it’s not being hosted by WordPress.com and we run on different software. This is the correct forum for your software http://wordpress.ORG/support/

I think I am using wordpress.com – see link to my Dashboard below

Are you clear on the fact that the only themes you can use on a free hosted WordPress.com blogs are found here? > Appearance > Themes

Choco is in my Themes, the Diary is not.
The Diary was being used on another server but AT&T users could not access that site so I moved my site to net46.net – I exported the Diary data and then imported it into Choco. Choco looks good, I just can’t access it from my browser.I tried renaming the Diary folder to diarybak but then no blog would appear.
Diary in NOT in my themes anymore. It’s just that I have a lot of data that I don’t want to lose, otherwise I would whack wordpress and start from scratch.
Guess whacking it & starting over is going to be my only solution.
Thanks for your comment -
It looks like you are using choco over here on WordPress.com with your imported content. And that your other URL is still using diary, or was when last I looked at it. So if you want to stay at your other site you will need to use that admin panel to find the theme you want.

I whacked WordPress on both sites, re-installed wordpress.com on net46.net server – the Choco theme and all my data is still there when I log in as admin.
But now nothing shows up when I try to access my blog via my website.Does anyone know how to start from scratch again? I will just print out all my posts and re-enter them on a new blog.

Hi there, when you say:
I whacked WordPress on both sites, re-installed wordpress.com on net46.net server –
WordPress.com isn’t actually something you can install on your own server – that would be the WordPress.org version.
Do you want to host your own sites by installing the software on your own server, or do you want to use the hosted version at WordPress.com instead?
Once we establish that first, we’ll take a look at what do to next. Thanks!

I just wanted a blog for my webpage. I had it working great until I wanted to change the theme. I was using Diary for the theme. When I changed the theme, the blog when accessed via my website it still had the old theme, but when I went to my dashboard, the new theme was in use.
So I deleted everything, started over, I got it looking the way I want it.
But now I cannot view my blog at http://sjmlnet46/blog as it errors
It is now viewable only at http://sjmlnet46.wordpress.com/ – but it works & it is using the correct theme. Something isn’t right, I did something wrong. -
If you want to keep your site hosted here at WordPress.com, but have it accessible via a different address, you’ll need to set up something we call domain mapping, to point your own domain or sub-domain (i.e. blog.mysite.com) to your WordPress.com address – http://sjmlnet46.wordpress.com.
On the other hand, it looks like the http://sjml.net46.net/blog/ site had once been running the self-hosted version of WordPress, but something is no longer set up right so it’s not coming up correctly. If you prefer to stay with the self-hosted version of WordPress, you might want to request some help over in the WordPress.org forums here:
http://wordpress.org/support/Just to be very clear, you’re currently using two completely different flavors of WordPress. One version is hosted by us here at WordPress.com, and one is hosted by you, on your own web host. We can help you with the one hosted at WordPress.com further if you need it – just let me know. :-)
