my blavitar won’t change–the picture i originally uploaded is still there.

You can change the blavatar (favicon) using these instructions > http://en.support.wordpress.com/avatars/blavatars/
However, do not expect and instantaneous chnage to take place. The images are cached and can take several days to display when you make a change. Do not keep up[loading images as that will only mean it takes longer. -
i followed those same instructions maybe 4 or 5 days ago–all of the images have changed except the one by the website URL at the top of the browser. is this normal?

never mind. i just checked it and now it’s fine *embarrassed!* thanks for your help–i should have just been more patient.

okay! one more question: the old picture still comes up when I post links to my blog on Facebook–is this just another piece I will have to wait for, or should it be switched by now?

Unfortunately, we have no control over the images that Facebook chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.
