Stuck in an Email Verification Loop ( poem b/c I was bored)

It has been a while since I’ve used my WordPress account, so when I attempted to sign into Gravatar, it sent me to a page that asked me to authorize my email. When I clicked on the ‘Authorize Account’ on the verification emails (the one sent 5/15/15 and the other sent 1/7/17), it sent me to a page that read ‘Your WordPress.com account has been activated’ and ‘You created your WordPress.com account while signing up for Gravatar, so you’ll likely want to head back there,’ followed by a button that says ‘Sign into Gravatar.’ When I press ‘Sign into Gravatar,’ it sends me right back to the page that asked me to go here if the email verification does not work.

Please note that I have attempted this multiple times before sending this, but I am in no rush for this to be fixed. The only reason I wanted to do this in the first place was to change my profile pic to Jimmi Simpson’s character on It’s Always Sunny in Philidelphia, Liam McPoyle (in the photo he is making a… ‘strange’ face).

After writing ^that^, I tried disconnecting the Gravatar account from this WordPress account by going to WordPress settings>Security>Connected Applications. I redid the verification process after disconnecting the Gravatar account and then tried logging in again. I was hopeful when it asked me to either ‘Accept’ or ‘Decline’ the ability to let Gravatar access my WordPress account information. I pressed the ‘Accept’ button and then it sent straight back to the page I originally started on: ‘Please check your email to verify your email address.’

For f**k’s sake, WordPress. Get your goddamn s**t together!
(I used grawlix so this doesn’t get rejected when I submit.)

After that didn’t work, I attempted variations on that process: waiting until after I allowed Gravatar to access my WordPress account information to click the link on the verification email, pressing ‘Deny’ when it asked to use my WordPress info (this actually did nothing at all, it just sent me to the URL I was already on), and then everything in between.

    Still nothing…

Except for the perfect subject for a poem.
I am frustrated with this, UH HUM (throat clear).

    It asks me to verify,
But it is just a damn lie,
Stop it, you, you’re making me cry…
    Shut up- I meant sigh.

I’m a man of my word,
This thing ain’t nothing but a turd.
It’s sending me for a loop,
And today I had wanted to play some hoops.

    Verify, it a lie.
    I’m going in a circle,
I’m getting stuck by a hurdle.
Just let me be, just let me by…
    All I’ve done is try.

Here I go, here I come,
This site is going to get some.

    I’m coming for you,
    Me and my crew,
    Let’s have a fight,
    Right here, all tonight.

    You got nothing on me,
But you’re not letting me be.

    [END OF POEM]

I hope you enjoyed that. It was actually really fun to write it (and I’m procrastinating studying for my first-semester final exams). If you want to read some of my short stories, I’ll see if I can post them on Reddit or something (I want to retain all rights over them and see if I can get them published in a magazine or something).

Back to the main subject: everything I have tried doesn’t work. If you have any ideas, be my guest to let me know. My best bet is getting in contact with some WordPress staff/admins.

    Thank you,
    -Will

    EDIT:
I made a dumb mistake in the poem.

    On the line

“And today I had wanted to play some hoops,”

    I intended to write

“And today I had wanted to shoot some hoops.”

Can’t figure out how to actually edit the post itself, so I am posting this.

    Hi Will,

I can see you’ve been able to connect to Gravatar. However, we need to look at the issues you’re having with email verification — I can help you sort this out.

In a moment I’ll send an email to the email address on your account about the next steps. Can you let me know if you don’t receive it?

    Thanks!
