Hi! I’m trying to import a backup file to this new site

It is still stuck in processing. Can you reset it back so that I can import the files again?

One of the reasons I haven’t bought a paid plan for my wordpress is just this bad function of import. If its not going to work better than this, then I’m very skeptical…

From where did you get the import file? From another WordPress.com site, or a self-hosted WordPress site? And what is the file size of the file? We have a 15MB file size limit on imports on WordPress.com, so if it’s a file from a self-hosted installation that’s bigger than that, you’ll need to split the file into smaller pieces using an XML Splitter app first.

Hi thanks for the answer. The import file is ” a save” from my old wordpress.com site. And it is already split into 3 pieces. 3mb, 5mb and one 5.8mb. I was trying to import the smallest one first. But no luck :(

Ok so the ( classic interface) Importer is now ready for another try. The new interface importer does still stand in a hang mode .Hope this one doesn’t take 4 days also :)
