Student needing to install plug-ins

I am a student at the University of Georgia. I am in an EDIT class where we are designing a website that is completely functional. My project is ‘Healthy Cooking’ and is a recipe builder. I need to install plug-ins to insert recipes into the website. Then I need to install another plug-in for a recipe builder. Since I am a student and the project presentation is in 5 days, I would like to get access to plug-ins for free. It would be unreasonable to pay $24 for one month of access. After this project I will not need this website. Please help a student out.

  • WordPress.com does not offer discounts of any kinds – no discounts for students, loyalists, whatsoever.

Note that WordPress.com plans are governed by a 30 day refund window. Should you choose to cancel a WordPress.com plan you bought, you will be able to get a full refund if you do in 30 days. You can read about this here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/

Note that you can actually only pay annually, not monthly. The monthly price is listed to break down the costs.

Given your necessity and urgency, you can choose to buy it for 12 months and cancel it within 30 days for full refund if you feel like doing so.

I hope this helps clarify things. Feel free to get back if you have questions related to WordPress.com account and WordPress.com sites and I will be keen on helping you through it!

  • Hi there,

We have a recipe shortcode that you can use to add recipes to a post or page:

    Recipes Shortcode

Plugins can only be used on the Business Plan, and WordPress.com plans can only be purchased for a year at a time.

While we do offer a 30 day refund on all plans, installing plugins will require you to register a domain as well, and domains can only be refunded for 48 hours, so should you decide to follow the advice above, note that your domain will not be refunded when you cancel the plan.
