    Subscription not activated

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I am not clear as to which activation notice what you are referring to.

What is the username of the person who is not receiving the activation notice?

Has that person checked in their email client spam/ junk mail filter as well as their “social” tab in Gmail, if they use it?

When you create a blog, an activation email is sent to finish the process and this student did not receive an email and is unable to login. He did check his email.

    Hi there,

Can you please tell me the account’s username and/or email address? (The account’s username is not necessarily the same as the blog’s name.) The email address will be redacted from our public forums, but support staff can still see it.

I can use that information to help this student confirm his email address and activate the account.

    Thank you for your help.

Thanks for letting me know. I just emailed that user to help them with this directly.

I asked my students to comment on blogs of other group members but I have been unable to see the comments. They have been sending me links to their comments but I do not see them when I paste the link and search through the blog sites. Do the owners of the site have to make them visible to the public?

NOTE: All bloggers may choose to moderate comments on their blogs. In fact that’s recommended, lest they set up anonymous commenting, which is akin to throwing down a welcome mat to spammers.

  • Unknown's avatar

Ok, thanks. I will tell my students to make comments available if they are from fellow students.

I recommend moderating comments and approving only those that are on topic and meaningful in nature. What I mean by that is that to have a comment approved on my blog the commenter must provide additional relevant information and/or encourage further discussion. The comment cannot be link heavy and designed simply to drive traffic back to the commener’s blog. It cannot be a personal attack. Here’s a link to my commenting policy. If you read it you will see the issues that can arise from not having a commenting policy in place.

You are a great resource. I will share your site with my students so they are better informed about setting up blogs. Thanks.

I am choosing to blog obligation at this time as there are over 1,000 published posts in my blog already and I do not want to become a parrot. Thanks for linking to it as a resource. I appreciate it. :)
