students having trouble accessing blog site

Hello,
Some of my students have had a really hard time getting on our (private) course blog this semester. I’ve described the problem in the forum: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/user-cannot-accept-invitation-to-join-receives-error?replies=11#post-1420376
I still have one student who just keeps getting the same error message, even though he’s tried registering three different emails. Is there any way you can directly give him access to our blog?

His email address and user name is (email visible only to moderators and staff) username: tnewman8jk
I’m also still not sure why students had such a hard time, and it was so frustrating for so many of them that I might reconsider using it next semester–even though I’d love to keep using it. Someone suggested that I make signing up to the blog an assignment, so that students wouldn’t try to all log in at the same time, but this is actually what I had done (made it an assignment), and they logged in over the course of about 3-4 days. Any advice for next time would be greatly appreciated. I love WordPress (normally)!

It could be like my colleague suggested, and too many students tried logging in at the same time, or it could be a security setting on computers at your school or with your internet access.
If you can let me know what role you wish to assign to this student, I can add him to your blog.

I have added him under the email address you provided, though that address is associated with a different username on WordPress.com.
