Stumbleupon Spam?
-
Yesterday I pounded out a quick post on my reaction to the Casey Anthony verdict. I was flabbergasted this morning to check my view count and see 268 views. I wondered if I had been fresh pressed! Then I realized that the vast majority of this hits came from Stumbleupon – 218 to be precise. Here’s what the usage links look like
and then a lot of 1 off views from links like this – http://www.stumbleupon.com/toolbar/litebar.php?device=chromebar&version=chromebar+3.5.18.1&ts=1309922865
So, my question is, Are any of these real hits from real people? or did I manage to trigger some kind of stumbleupon spambot.
thanks!

Oh my goodness! I though for sure it would be the other way around.
200 views in 1 day… I think I might cry! just quadrupled the highest day count ever, and more than half of that original highest day was spam!

Well now you can see how effective stumbleupon can be. If you are a new member be sure to read this > http://sem-group.net/search-engine-optimization-blog/when-the-ban-hammer-comes-down-on-stumbleupon/

OMG I was all excited. I thought, “Spammers are using Stumble now?!?!?!?!?!” Stumble is incredibly effective at driving hits, so I was all excited to think of these spammers trying to get my attention by diverting massive traffic my way.
By the way, spammers, you can DEFINITELY get my attention by diverting massive traffic my way. I’m just sayin’.
