stupid smile on my site and background color gallery changed..Hacked?

There’s a stupid smile on the bottom of my site and background color behind my paintinggallery changed..Has my site been hacked?
What do I do to prevent this?If its a wordpress joke I’ll stop using WP, very childish to do such a thing.
Please help, my portfolio looks awful with the white background gone.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The smiley is called “Angela” and is used to track your stats; Every time Angela is loaded that counts as one hit.
Do you mean the site background, that bluey-gray colour? Because the colour of your content column is white.

This is exactly what just happened to us. I don’t necessarily mind the tracking, but why did it have to mess up the background-color of my content-container?

I’m sorry but you can’t remove it and it’s tiny so I doubt that any visitors will even notice it. That’s an indication from WordPress.com that your stats are being recorded. Every time a visitor views a URL on your blog, the visitor’s web browser loads a small smiley-face image from our stats system. -
@sigridstuut: Your background is messed up because of bad HTML in your page. Go to Settings>Writing, tick the option “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically”, click Save Changes. Then edit the page, make any insignificant change such as adding then removing a space, click Update.

@clacsblogadmin: The smilie has nothing to do with your background color. You’ve got the Custom Design upgrade, so you can set the bg colors any way you please.

@timethief I don’t care if any WP developer who invented this stupid thing thinks people won’t notice it. I noticed. And then: why put it there if it will not be noticed by most visitors?
But thank you all for explaining. It’s nice to know there are people who want to help out in this community.

The little smilie must be present for your visits to be recorded. But present doesn’t equal visible. It could easily be a hidden image, but WP made it visible, apparently thinking it’s a cute feature. I don’t agree, but I’m not WP.
You can hide the smilie if you have the Custom Design upgrade. -
FYI it’s named Angela after somebody’s hostile ex-wife, who kept showing up when he wished she wouldn’t.

I wouldn’t go for it and this is why. We heard only one side of the “Angela” story that led to our Moderator using her name. We never heard her side of the story. What of the allegations he made were not true?

What if the smiley is not loaded because of someone’s slow browser or with disabled images or any other reason?
