    Hi there!

I’ll be happy to help you with this.

What is the difference between the premium themes and the other versions that don’t have it.

On WordPress.com, we have three types of themes?

    1. Free: You can use these themes for free on any WordPress.com plan.
    2. Premium Themes: These themes require the WordPress.com Premium plan or higher.
    3. Paid: These themes are separate subscriptions. Some of them will require your site to be on the WordPress.com Business plan (especially those that are WooCommerce themes meant for online stores). But all of them will be an additional subscription.

It’s worth noting that with the WordPress.com Business plan, you can also install third-party themes if you have them from other sources. You also have access to plugins, real-time backups, security scanning, and 24/7 live chat support (on the annual plan) with the WordPress.com Business plan.

If you need further help with choosing a WordPress.com plan or a theme for your site, we’d love to assist! Can you tell us more about the site you’re building? What’s the site for, and what features do you need on your site?

Apologies, I forgot the second part of your question.

Also is style customization css? If I don’t have this would I not be able to use it?

The Premium plan and higher includes Custom CSS, but Style Customization also refers to the additional style features on many themes (like color, font, etc.) that you will have access to with the WordPress.com Premium plan or higher. I recommend checking out this page to learn more:

The theme you choose for your site defines many aspects of your site’s design: colors, text size, spacing, and more. You can customize these elements as much as you’d like using Styles.
