Sub-Categories Bug

  I want to add a category to an existing post. However, the category is a sub category of one of the categories the post already contains. When I go to the edit page for the post, the existing categories are displayed at the top, without their subtrees, so there seems to be no way to add this category.

  A secondary bug is that when I uncheck the parent category, it is failing to be removed from the post, so I can’t remove it, then add both categories back in

  There’s no bug in this function. Open the post in question in the editor. Click add new category. You will see a blank box to enter the subcategory’s name and a drop down box that says parent category to choose the parent. Be sure to save your changes.
