sub categories not dropping down/ or showing

  Hello the I hope someone can help,
  I use categories as menus through my blog site to seperate posts.
  When you clicked on a categorie a drop down appeared with the sub-categories but I have just noticed that this no longer happens?? can anyone help.

  If you had created a custom top nav menu, go to Appearance>Menus and make sure that menu is selected in the Theme Locations pulldown.
