sub directory

    Hi,

We have a site mamasandpapas.com in the UK and wish to set up a WordPress instance. Ideally we need the site to be hosted at mamasandpapas.com/blog as opposed to blog.mamasandpapas.com. Because we’re hosting the WordPress site externally from our ecommerce site, what the best way of achieving the above?

    Thanks in advance.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

The best forum for this question is the WordPress.org forum which can found at:

    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

These forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites. The difference between the two is explained, here:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

Hi apologise, this was for a WordPress hosted site but after doing some reading I can see that this is only possible with a subdomain but I am concerned about SEO impact. However, it seems that opinions are split on sub domain vs sub directory in terms of impact on SEO.

    Hi,

This was for a WordPress hosted site?

I have since read that this only supports subdomains and that setting up a sub directory workaround would be tricky for an externally hosted site. My concern is SEO impact. I just wondered if anyone had a solution or advice?

    Thanks.
