sub domain from wordpress mapped domain.

  Hi, Is it possble to have a sub domain for my mapped domain? I have my domain mapped to wordpress. I want to add a link to my new shop. I would like to have the shop domain as shop.mymappedwebsite.com . is this possible? with that forwarding to my shop held on bigcartel.com.

  Yes, you need to set CNAME records for the subdomain.

  Thanks, but i’m not sure that is what i need. i want shop.myblog.com to go to my bigcartel.com hosted shop. the domain ‘myblog.com’ is mapped to my wordpress.com site. So how can I add a sub-domain to my domain and have it show my hosted shop?

  I have a feeling since the dns of ‘myblog.com’ is at wordpress then it is not possible to create a subdomain.?

  any help appreciated.

  What you need to do is add CNAME records to your domain in wordpress. Go into “Domains” in the control panel and select “Edit Dns” against the myblog.com domain. You can add a CNAME record, which I think will be something like

  CNAME shop bigcartel.com.

  I have added a google apps mail domain successfully as

  CNAME mail ghs.google.com.

  so it does work!
