This link gives instructions for mapping a subdomain:

-
Remember that mapping does not relieve you of the Terms of Service: http://en.wordpress.com/tos/

It’s important to comprehend what is and is not allowed on free hosted wordpress.COM blogs. They cannot be used to drive traffic to third party sites. They cannot be used to resell or retail products that the bloggers does not make and cannot be used to resell services they do not provide.
Please see these entries > http://wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/As auxclass has said domain mapping does not change anything whatsoever as the blog is still free hosted by wordpress.com.
Same Rules Apply – The Domain Mapping Upgrade does not enable the permission to use advertising, any kind of prohibited code, or upload additional themes or plugins. With the upgrade, your blog will still be hosted here at WordPress.com, which means that you will not have FTP access to your files and you will still be required abide by our Terms of Service. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-subdomain/
