Sub menu doesn't collapse – Twenty Twenty-One Theme

    Hi,

    I am building my portfolio with the Twenty Twenty-One template (gorgeous! btw).

    However, in the mobile version the sub menus don’t collapse. I added one sub menu, but I have several more to add. It would be a very invasive navigation experience to be on mobile with a fully expanded menu.

    Can any one please help me correct this? Has it been resolved?

    Glad you’re liking the theme! :)

    However, in the mobile version the sub menus don’t collapse. I added one sub menu, but I have several more to add. It would be a very invasive navigation experience to be on mobile with a fully expanded menu.

    On The Twenty Twenty-One theme, all your menu items will show fully expanded when viewing on mobile with an X to close the menu in the upper right of the menu regardless of how many submenus you have. This is due to the fact that there is no “hover” state on mobile devices, so this isn’t a “bug” or something that needs to be fixed.

    For example, here’s a Twenty Twenty-One menu with a primary menu item, a secondary sub menu item under the primary, and a tertiary sub menu under the secondary and what it looks like on both Desktop and Mobile:

    You should experiment with grouping or categorizing your portfolio pieces to reduce the amount of menu items you may need. We have some tips that may help on making the most of your portfolio here as well:

    Thanks you so much for the incredibly fast reply.

    I wish it would be collapsable. Even if it meant in desktop it would end up being no longer a hover menu but one you had to click on to expand, I believe collapsing menus are best. Just saying. For future development references :)

    That said, I appreciate your answer and knowing that’s just simply how the theme works. I will adapt to it, for I do like the template in general.
