subdirectory

Hi Support Team,
We have our site(example.com) on AWS route53. For now, we want to host our blog site on wordpress.com instead of self-host. We want to use the link example.com/blog. (Not subdomain: blog.example.com.)
Is this possible on the wordpress.com?
Regards,
Self-declared URL: visla.us
Jetpack: Unknown
WP.com: UnknownThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

Hi there,
I understand that you’d like to have your blog hosted on WordPress.com using a subdirectory rather than a subdomain. Unfortunately, WordPress.com does not support connecting sites to subdirectories. Instead, you can connect your site to a subdomain like blog.example.com.
The primary reason for this limitation is that subdirectories can create conflicts with the site’s URL structure, which can lead to broken links and make it difficult to manage your site’s content effectively. On the other hand, subdomains are treated as separate entities, making it easier to maintain your main site and your blog without any overlap or confusion.
To connect a custom domain or subdomain to your WordPress.com site, you’ll need to have a plan. Based on your interest in creating a blog, I would recommend our Personal plan, which is tailored for bloggers.
Please let me know if you have any further questions or need assistance with setting up your subdomain and selecting the right plan.
