Subdirectory Blog
-
Hello, I am a newbie. I want to set up a wordpress blog in a subdirectory on my website. Following this tutorial, https://thetutoworld.com/methods-to-set-up-wordpress-in-a-subdirectory-step-by-step/ I created a folder named ‘blog’ on my website, copied the files in, created a database and… am stuck on Step 4. When visiting the ‘blog’ folder, instead of getting an installation wizard I get ‘This page isn’t working right now’ and ‘HTTP ERROR 500’. Rest of my website is fine and working as usual. Suggestions?

In case this is relevant, my main website is actually not a wordpress website, nor another platform. I wrote the code for it myself, then added some Cognito forms and addthis widgits, couple other things.

Update: turned out my host was running an older version of PHP, got it updated and working.

Hello there,
Glad to hear and see you got that working there.
Just for future reference, as your site is not hosted with WordPress.com, we wouldn’t be able to help with your site. You would be best placed to reach out to theme developers and the hosting provider for further assistance.
I hope this helps.
