  Hi, I own a domain, but I want to keep my current site under that domain on that provider, but use wordpress to host a new site under a subdomain (like sub.domain.com) is that possible?

  Hi there,

  Yes it is possible to connect a subdomain (from GoDaddy or any other provider) without transferring your domain itself.

  To do this you will need to add one of our upgrade plans, which include “domain mapping” so you can connect an outside domain. https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  Once you have upgraded you can follow the steps here to connect a subdomain address to your WordPress.com site. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/
