subdomain

I plan to have a business plan. and I plan to add subdomain to this business plan with my own domain.
If i have another site through subdomain, do I only pay for domain mapping fee, or do I have to pay for another plan for each site in subdomain of a business plan?
-
Hi there,
Each individual site would require it’s own Business plan. It is possible to use a main domain for one site, and subdomains for each subsequent site, but in our system these are separate sites so each one you create would need it’s own plan in order to use a non-wordpress.com address.

Yes that is no problem. If you do not need to upload plugins/themes on your other sites they can be on lower plans.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Can I map domain to free wordpress.com blog??
If so, how much is it to map domain to free wordpress site??
For example, can I map ESL.JinuAcademy.com to ESLPhonetics.WordPress.com??

Hi Yamela2000,
Yes you can create a subdomain if your main domain is registered with WordPress.com
You can map a subdomain for no cost…. But it should be pointing to your main domain which is created in WordPress.com
Please follow this link:
” To Map a Subdomain ”
https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-subdomain/#adding-a-mapping-subscription
Hope this helps you
Thank You

@yamela2000 – To map a domain to a site on WordPress.com you would need to purchase one of the WordPress.com plans. However…
As @anupnandanhm has said, you can map a Subdomain for free. For example, if you already own JinuAcademy.com, you could map the Subdomain
ESL.JinuAcademy.comto your site atabram69presents.wordpress.comif you wanted, or any other site you have on WordPress.com.Again, those instructions are here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-subdomain/#adding-a-mapping-subscription

Hi Yamela2000
The domain name that you have tried to map is “ESL.JinuAademy.com” instead of “ESL.JinuAcademy.com” . So please try to map the correct domain name, if it still says domain is already taken try alternative words for the extension.
And if you have registered “JinuAcademy.com” at WordPress.com or any other Domain Registrars then surely it is possible to create “ESL.JinuAcademy.com”.
Follow this link to find your registered domain:
Note: Login to your specific WordPress.com account and then click below link

Thank You

Actually, the subdomain I tried, and got message, .. already taken .. was
ESL.EonAcademy.org
Can you look this up??

Can you share a screenshot of the error message you are getting? Please include the whole window + address bar so that we can see the URL.
Here are some screenshot instructions if you are unfamiliar with the process:

Hi there,
Are you currently trying to redirect that subdomain to your WordPress.com site via some other method? I noticed if I visit esl.eonacademy.org I am redirected to your WordPress.com site at https://eslphonetics.wordpress.com/
Actually, the subdomain I tried, and got message, .. already taken .. was
To clarify, the reason you see that message is because the subdomain esl.eonacademy.org is already being used to point traffic to another site. In this case you’re pointing traffic to eslphonetics.wordpress.com but we can’t see that as clearly since we can’t determine exactly how you are directing traffic back to us.
What you can do is remove the following record from your domain settings for eonacademy.org, which is found in your Google Domains domain console:
esl.eonacademy.org. IN CNAME ghs.googlehosted.com.and instead replace it with this CNAME record instead
esl.eonacademy.org. IN CNAME eslphonetics.wordpress.com.This is the setting we use for “mapping” a subdomain, and if you add it to your eonacademy.org domain settings, it should allow you to then add mapping on this end without an error message.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
