Subdomain

    Hi guys,
I just bought a premium membership with you guys and registered a domain, and now I would like to have a subdomain linking my other websites. I read that it’s hard to know the CNAME, and well I don’t know much about programming stuff, so I wonder if you guys can help. The website I would like to link to is http://roycesellthing.tumblr.com

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there, I’ve checked out your site and it looks like you want to make a link to bargains.supersalami.net that shows the site you’ve set up at roycesellthing.tumblr.com, is that right? You can do that by adding a CNAME record to the custom DNS page in your dashboard. Just follow these steps:

    1. Go to Store -> Domains

    2. Click the link Edit DNS

    3. Add this CNAME record in the blank:

    CNAME bargains roycesellthing.tumblr.com

    4. Click the Save DNS records button

The link you already have in your menu should begin working to display your tumblr site pretty quickly afterwards, but you may need to clear your browser cache to see this. Here’s how to do that:

Finally, once it’s all working from this end, you’ll want to make sure to update your settings in your tumblr account to display your subdomain address in the browser address bar, instead of the tumblr address:

I hope that helps — please let me know if you get stuck.
