subdomain availability check

  I understand for an existing subdomain to be available again, it takes two or more years after the owner deleting the site. If the site has been deleted, how can I check when the subdomain will be available for registration again? Many thanks!!!

  Hi there,

  The only way to see if the address is available is to try and register it at https://wordpress.com/start/site/

  If it’s available, you’ll be able to register it. If not, you won’t. Also note that some WordPress.com subdomains cannot be recycled, no matter how long ago they were deleted.

  thank you very much for your help.
  Is there any way to find whether a subdomain going to be recycled in the future, or never will? and if the subdomain is going to be recycled, how to find when will be that?

  There is no way to know when it’s going to happen, no. This is completely automated in our system. The earliest it can happen is two years after the address was deleted, but that is only one of several factors that influence whether an address is recycled. We cannot tell you the date on which a particular address was deleted – that information can only be shared with the original owner.
