Subdomain mapping, server not found.
-
I’m using a free Wordpres account. I signed up for the subdomain mapping for $13. The subdomain is blog.nccomputertech.com. I have added the CNAME entry to the dns record on my hosts name servers.
blog.nccomputertech.com. 900 IN CNAME nccomputertech.wordpress.com.
When I log into my wordpress dashboard it says DNS is correct for blog.nccomputertech.com.
blog.nccomputertech.com is selected as my primary domain in the dashboard.
When I go to blog.nccomputertech.com I get a “server not found messages”. It’s been about 2 hours now.
Now before I upgraded I added the CNAME record and it did send me to a WordPress page telling me I have to add the domain upgrade package. So that tells me in fact the DNS is working on my hosts server.
How long does it take WordPress to get this going? I’ll just get a refund if they can’t get it going.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

I think it’s my local ISP server cache that is holding it up on my end. I tried going to blog.nccomputertech.com with a proxy and it’s working. I know years ago the usual time was 24-48 hours for the change to propergate across servers. Lately I never had to wait more than 2 hours, some take under an hour.
I’ll wait it out.
