Subdomain Payment
-
For example, I own a subdomain for all of my 5 websites. If I would create 5 blogs and I want to map those subdomains that I own to my wordpress blog, do I have to pay for mapping them, eventhough I own the subdomains already? Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
This support doc explains the subdomain mapping process: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-subdomain/
Let me know if your request matches one of the scenarios for mapping subdomains.

Yeah, I’ve read it already. What I want to clarify is the payment. Do I have to pay for those subdomains that I will map even if I own them already?

Hello @vrroque
No you don’t have to pay extra to map your sub-domain if you have upgraded to paid WordPress.COM plan.Hope this helps 🙂

To the best of my knowledge, each of your 5 subdomains would need its own mapping upgrade in order to be used here on WordPressdotcom.
Here’s what the support doc that staff-frank linked to says,
How do you pay for this upgrade?
Our WordPress.com plans come with a free domain credit that you can use to map a subdomain you already own. You can map additional subdomains to your site with only $13.00 per subdomain, per blog, per year.

Hi there, this thread is tagged for Staff clarification.
However, is this still relevant since both loginalarm.wordpress.com and loginalarmblog.wordpress.com have been deleted?

@wpbeestripe
Our answers are the same.
@justjennifer just pointed out that every sub-domain mapping would require it’s own upgrade – meaning you cannot map multiple sub-domains with a single upgrade. In short: 1 upgrade = 1 sub-domain mapping.

As stated in the answer provided by @justjennifer

Hi there,
If you want to map 5 subdomains to 5 different sites, you’ll need a paid plan and mapping upgrade on each site. The fact that you own the subdomains are irrelevant – connecting the subdomain to a WordPress.com site is a paid service.
If you want to map 5 subdomains to one WordPress.com site, you’ll need a paid plan for that site which includes the mapping of one subdomains, and you’ll need an additional mapping upgrade for each additional subdomain you want to map.
