Subdomain strips my www
-
I have setup my CNAME record and remapped my blog but I am not getting the results I was expecting.
One of the reasons I wanted my blog mapped to my website domain is so that my blog pages would be linked to my domain and impact the IC (the number of indexed pages on the domain).
The blog pages are updated in the the IC for http:/calgarysem.com but not for http://www.calgarysem.com
Have I setup the CNAME correctly for what I want to do?
My domain is hosted at Go daddy. The settings for the CNAME record are Alias Name: blog Points to Host Name: calgarysem.wordpress.com
Should the settings be: Alias Name: http://www.blog ??
Would that give me the desired results, so that my blog address is http://www.blog.Calgarysem.com not http://blog.Calgarysem.com
Any suggestions on what i need to do to get the results I want?
Thanks for your assistance.
Lisa

The “www” is non-essential and has been for several years. Also as a side note no wordpress.com blog URLs contain “www” in them at all. But yours is not a wordpress.COM free hosted blog and we provide support here only for free hosted wordpress.com blogs.
My domain is hosted at Go daddy.
All those who have blogs web hosted by any other web host that wordpress.COM must post to the correct support forum an for their software and that’s here > http:..wordpress.ORG/support
