Since you’re using the Blank Canvas theme, you’ll need to use the Site Editor, not the Customizer to set up your menu and submenus.
Before we begin, we’ll need to remove those existing submenus. Go to Appearance -> Customizer and edit your menu there to remove those two post links. Make sure you save to update those changes.
Then, go to Appearance -> Editor (beta) and you’ll see the site editor for your homepage.
Click the three lines in the upper left menu to open your site’s List View. A left sidebar will open showing all the elements of your homepage.
Click the
>byheaderto expand your header section. Keep clicking those>for each level that expands until you see the Navigation section (screenshot of what this will look like). For the “Residential” submenu section, you’ll see there’s no
>there to expand which indicates there are no items under that submenu. I took the above screenshot without making any changes to your existing menu so I’m not sure where you originally set those links up, but the fact there’s nothing under “Residential” in the Site Editor is why it’s not auto-expanding on your site.To fix this, click on the “Residential” section then click the
+in the upper left menu and type in “Post Link” which will bring up a window to choose the post of your choice. Note that it will add the link to your primary menu bar – we’ll fix that in a second. Choose the first post, then repeat this process for the second post.Once those links are established, you can click and drag them from the List View (you may need to click the three lines in the upper left menu to bring it back up again, then click the
>to expand those sections in the header) from the primary menu to nest under “Residential”.Make sure you click “save” in the upper right menu bar to save those changes.
Let us know how that works!
