Submenu overlay is hidden

  • Unknown's avatar

I have the same navigation menu at the top of my webpages. Some of the items in the navigation menu have submenus with multiple items. When I click/hover over the item in the menu, the submenu will be pulled up but it won’t display the entire submenu. It stops where the next element begins. It’s only on some of the pages, but not on others. How can I make it so that the entire submenu will show, rather than be cut off/hidden by the element/block that follows it on the page?

  • Hey there,

    Thanks for reaching out.

It looks like this is happening because the menu is nested within a cover block, and it’s the cover block confinement that’s cutting that off.

You may wish to move the navigation and menu title outside of that, and into a header block. I suspect there’s a chance you could use a header block to emulate what’s been built currently.

This guide here explains how to create custom headers: https://wordpress.com/support/site-editor/customize-your-header/

Is there a site out there you’re looking to emulate out of curiosity – perhaps I can help and provide some advice.

    Many thanks!
