  I added a place for people to “sign up” for an event. They enter their name (required) and email (required). Then submit button. Where does this information go? Where can I find it? And track it?

  Are you referring to a Contact Form? If so the information goes to the email address you used to create the blog with. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/

  I see a widget in your sidebar titled “Contact Teresa” and in it I see an email address and telephone number posted in a format that spam bots will harvest. I suggest that you remove that information and use a contact form instead. Or use one of these methods of preventing spam bots from harvesting you contact information.
