subpage into category

i have created a page on my blog called “scenes from egypt” and used it as a parent page for a subpage. i want to use categories because it’s easier to handle than pages. so i created a category with the same name of the parent page which is “scenes from egypt” and i want to use the category instead of the parent page. now i want to move the post from the subpage (under the parent page “scenes from egypt”) i have into that category, is there a way to do that? i don’t want to delete the “scenes from egypt” page and the subpage under it and repost the content of the subpage into the category i created. will it be possible to move the post? appreciate any feedback. thank you

It might help to read the support document on the differences between posts and pages, although it sounds like you have a pretty solid grasp of it now.
The best solution will be to delete the two pages you have, replace the parent page with the category and the child page will automatically be replaced with all the posts you categorise as scenes from egypt. You can do that by using a custom menu, although it won’t show each post as part of the drop down.

yeah, i totally understand the difference now and actually dealing with categories seems to be better and easier.
that’s what i did, i deleted the parent page, created a category and added the sub-page as a sub-item.
