SUBPAGES DON’T WORK
-
Im working on a webpage for a school project and for some reason my subpages won’t work. I asked my professor if he can give me another domain – he did and the same thing happened – subpages just won’t work. One of my friends assumed it was a php code error but im not sure.

Hi there!
Can you provide the url for the site you’re working on, and some more details about the issue?
In the meantime, this might help.
Usually a subpage refers to one of two things: 1, a page set as a child of another; 2, a sub-menu link that appears in a drop-down or sub-menu list.
If setting the page as a parent or child is the issue, try double checking the steps on this support page: Managing parent pages.
If the issue is that subpages do not appear in your menus as expected, it may be that you are using a custom menu, in which case, all pages you want to be linked from menus usually need to be added and ordered manually: Adding drop-down menus.
Hope this helps!

I can provide the link: 678.ablak.arnes.si/matura2018/test02
I was following a step by step tutorial for the subpages because I had no previus wordpress knowledge so I know i didnt’t make a mistske. I also tried adding custom links on the pages but the same error appeared. I added a subpage called Nova on my site just so you can see what error shows up. -
The 404 error you’re receiving could be an issue with your permalinks, so a possible solution would be to navigate to Settings » Permalinks, and simply click Save Changes. This might help since it rewrites the rules that control how your links and page urls are written.
If this doesn’t work, take note of the current permalink settings, then change them to WordPress default, Save Changes, and see if you’re links still don’t work.
There are other possible variables, such as plugins or files that could be causing issues. It looks like you are using WordPress.org, which is slightly different from WordPress.com (you can read more about the differences here), however and WordPress.org has it’s own support forum: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
If the solution above doesn’t fix things, hopefully the pros over at the WordPress.org forums can get you up and running.
