We can’t help directly because we don’t host lynnemonahan.com on our WordPress.com managed hosting. As a result, we can’t take a closer look at your site.
Instead your host (Bluehost) uses the open-source variant of the WordPress platform which functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com. The good news is that it is possible to add subscribe functionality via the Jetpack plugin if you have it installed on your site.
The Subscription Form Block (which is a simple button with a space to enter an email address) is not enabled by default, but can be added by following the steps here: https://jetpack.com/support/jetpack-blocks/subscription-form-block/
I have 3 other sites where I was able to just add the subscribe button.
For sites hosted on WordPress.com, we build in a lot of features that are not present on WordPress sites created through other providers. If your sites were hosted on WordPress.com (a hint is if it has “wordpress.com” in the URL) then the subscribe button is easy to set up, similar to what you saw in our webinar.
However, for a self-hosted WordPress sites (created on a “traditional web host” like Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc) you need to install the Jetpack plugin as a first step, which is why it is more difficult on sites we don’t host.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
