  I’m not sure what you mean,
  but I tried this on one comment on a blog and was inundated with irrelevant emails telling me someone had posted there. Mostly friends of the blogger, posting in Japanese which I cannot read.

  With all the new problems of last weekend and Monday and Tuesday, I knew from experience that wordpress had done an update to the software because in the “old days” (2.5 and before) it happened far more often. Raincoaster, myself and Timethief used to joke when things went bork on the weekends, ‘well it’s update weekend again’ as we dealt with a flood of problems. I’m hoping the 2.7 rollout ends up being the shape of things to come. Very few problems.

  Well aside from you breaking the forums, and all the weird stuff over the last few days, I’d say there are “Very few problems.”
  So, ya think that we’ll have threaded comments soon?
  Or is that annoying “subscribe to comments” all what we’ll end up with.

  I have the suspicion that when they added the subscribe to comments stuff to the themes (which resulted in several themes going b0rk) they added the stuff for the threaded comments. It’s just that they have not yet activated things. I suspect they are still chasing some bugs from last weekend’s updates.

  yeah, I think I read one of the staff saying they were working on the threaded comments update, but then I could (can) not find the thread again.

  Is there a way to go back to the old wordpress? This new version is just junk. They’re always tweaking something meaning there’s always something not working. Today it’s pings and trackbacks not working. No comment thread. I won’t go down the list. I’ve been looking for an alternative and I’ve found that most of the free blog hosting services are as bad as wordpress. Probably why they still exist (lucky for them).
