Subscribe widget or plugin?

I currently use the subscribe2 plugin that sends an email to all of my subscribers when there is a new blog post. However, it uses the subscribers I have in my Tools >> Subscribers section. As far as I know, I have to enter all of those subscribers manually. I’m looking for a plugin/widget to put on the sidebar that allows users to type their email in to subscribe, and that widget/plugin automatically adds their email to the tools >> subscribers list. Does such a widget/plugin exist? Or is there any easier way to allow users to subscribe on the sidebar to receive emails for new blogs posts.

    Thanks for your help.

Not much to see so far, still in the development phase.

The subscription source I have on there at the moment is feedburner, but I haven’t studied far into it yet so I’m not quite sure how it works. Plus, everytime I enter an email address I get this message: The feed does not have subscriptions by email enabled

It looks like you have a self-hosted WordPress blog and are in the wrong forum. Please ask your question at http://wordpress.org/support

You are currently in a forum for blogs hosted by WordPress.com and our answers will not apply to your situation. Thanks and I hope you find a solution to your problem soon.

And by the way, in my opinion, FeedBurner is a fine alternative to a subscription plugin.
