Subscriber emails do not show embedded images
-
Some of my subscribers (especially this with Apple Technology) are not receiving embedded images in their subscriber emails. I can’t find any settings that may fix this. It seems to be mostly occurring to those with the latest versions of Apple’s operating systems for iPhone, iPads and MacOS computers. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Has anyone found a fix in any WordPress settings?

Hi there,
This isn’t due to any settings on your site, and not something we have any control over from our end.
If your site settings include the full post in notification emails, any media you add to the post is also included in the email (as a link, in other words, embedded and not an attachment), but it’s up to the email client the subscriber is using whether or not those media files will display.
Many email clients don’t display images embedded in an email by default, both to conserve bandwidth, and also as a security measure, as it’s possible to embed malware inside or disguise it as an image file. Depending on the email client there might be a setting to show embedded images, but otherwise the emails will only show a link to the media file.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. This problem is only a recent one. You have helped me to confirm that the new security feature of macOS Monterey and IOS15.0 are causing this to happen. Before these updates, I didn’t have a problem at all. I’ll talk to Apple and see if there is a fix.
