Subscriber Emails for New Posts
-
Hi guys,
Is there any way to remove the content of a blog post from the instant email notification that my subscribers receive?
I am finding that people are just reading the blog posts in the notification email rather than actually visiting my blog in a browser.
My main concern is viewing the images as the photography is an important part of my content, which just doesn’t look great when viewed tiny in the email.
We love the email notifications going to our subscribers but really want to find a way where they don’t give away the whole post before the reader clicks through to the blog.
Any help much appreciated!
Thank you,
AngusThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Angus,
I have visited your blog and I see what you mean, it would be a shame to miss the photos you have there :-)
The only way to for email notifications to have just intro to your post with a link Read more is to use the More tag.
You can place the More tag after the section of the text you would like to display.
Subscriber emails will display only the text before the More tag and the Read more button.
If you would like to avoid the same thing happening to the posts on your homepage (displaying only the beginning of the post with Continue reading button), go to My Sites > Customize >Content Options and under Blog Display choose Post excerpt. Don’t forget to click the Publish button.See more about using the More tag here:

I hope this will help solve your problem.

Thank you so much for the reply – I wasn’t aware of the more tags but that has done the job perfectly!
Your help is much appreciated,
