Subscriber Notification Content – Public to Private Blog
-
Hello all,
My blog was once public but is now private. I still have a few people who are subscribed (non-admin), and I am wondering what they might be seeing for notifications on new posts. These people are not permitted access to the private blog, but I am curious if they will still receive notifications/recaps of what I post now.
If the subscribers are receiving notices still, is there any way to prevent notifications from being sent out when I publish something now that the blog is private?
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

As they were subscribed while the blog was public, they’ll still receive posts.
Please contact us via support@wordpress.com and we’ll see what we can do.

staff-blorbo -I was under the impression that private blogs don’t send out subscription emails. The reason I mention this is because there have been occasions when someone in the forum wants to update an old post without a notification being sent out and some of us volunteers have suggested making the blog private, making the changes, and then making it public again. It seemed to work.
Is this incorrect or am I misunderstanding the mechanics, which would not surprise me.

justjennifer, that isn’t how it should work, but I’ll test it out later today. Something may have changed while I wasn’t looking.

@justjennifer
I have noticed that macmanx has not posted to the support forums for 4 days now. Perhaps he’s traveling or away. -
Thanks, tt. Rather than wait, I went ahead and did some experimenting myself.

@justjennifer
Thanks. I did a “press this” on your post so my subscribers would be aware of blog privacy settings and subscribers.
