Subscriber transfer
-
Hi WP.
I recently moved my blog to a self hosted WordPress.org site – now called ‘A Yogafied Life’
Is there a way for me to transfer people who subscribed to my Yogi’s Basket articles to my new self hosted blog?
Also – is there a way for me to redirect people from my old blog to new self hosted blog?
Thanks
Kate

Hi there!
So just to be sure, are you looking to transfer subscribers from yogisbasket.wordpress.com over to your external site yogisbasket.com?
Also, you can indeed redirect followers from one to another. You will need to purchase our product called Domain Redirect for $13/year. With it, anyone who is visiting your WordPress.com site will be automatically redirected to whatever address you wish (so yogisbasket.com).
You can read more about it here:

Hi!
I would like to transfer people who subscribe to my Yogis Basket/Wordpress.com site over to my self hosted site ‘A Yogafied Life.com’ (hosted by In Motion/Wordpress.org) Perhaps I have to implement some kind of plugin?
I need it so everytime I post a new article, that group of people receive the notification. I believe the Yogis Basket list had approx 16 – 20 people registered.
Domain redirect is also required. I will read further.
Thanks

Heya!
Yes, you do indeed need a plugin in order for us to proceed. If you could go here:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/jetpack/
You will need to both install and connect this plugin. Once you have, let me know. I’ll verify that we’re able to communicate with it and we’ll transfer over all of your subscribers!

Excellent thanks. Jetpack is installed, it say’s it’s in sync with WordPress.com.
Is it possible to keep adding subscribers to the new Jetpack subscription list?

Heya!
I took a look, and it appears that your AYogafiedLife.com account is still not connected. The connection should be pretty much instantaneous, so as soon as you click connect it should be good to go!

Sorry I don’t understand! I’m looking at my back end:
http://ayogafiedlife.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpackAnd it says that Jetpack is connected.

Hi there,
Our systems aren’t showing it as having made a successful connection at all. So if you could, would you please click the green “connected” button to disconnect it and then reconnect it again? You should be prompted to log in to your WordPress.com account in the process.
-
Okay disconnected and reconnected. Although was not prompted for password as you suggested.
I went to my WordPress.com site and clicked through ‘A Yogafied Life’ admin, and then it requested my log in details.
Are you able to transfer now?

Hey there!
That’s perfect! I was able to migrate all of your subscribers and they are now on your new blog.
You can review the followers right here:

I hope you have a great weekend!
