subscriber unable to login with password
-
One of my longtime subscribers cannot login using the password. here is what he is telling me: LM, so I am the only one having this issue! Crazy. Below, I sent 2 of your wordpress.com links and your password info to a friend and he/we tested both links this morning and the password would not work to access/open any of your documents. He got the same results as me……….nothing opens with the passwords. Crazy! This is a nasty problem and I don’t know how to resolve. Somewhere wordpress.com access is getting filtered. Can you check with wordpress to determine if they can assist in resolving.

Hi, could you tell us the email address they’re logging in with? If you’ll type it here it will be hidden from public view so only staff can see it. And we can use that to look for more information.
Please confirm which site they are logging into, too.

Your site is public, so no login is required to view any content on the site.
Are you speaking of password-protected content, like the most recent post at https://likesmoney.wordpress.com/2020/11/14/the-11-14-20-weekend-report/?
For password-protected posts like that, the password is set on the post itself, and anyone who knows the password can view the protected content. Someone doesn’t even need to be logged into a WordPress.com account in order to view protected content. They just need the password.
I can view that post just fine using the password you currently have set in the editor, so I don’t see anything broken here. So the most likely explanation is that the reader is making an error when entering the password on your site.
Ask that subscriber to send you the password exactly as they’re using it, and check that against what you have set in the editor.
