  Today all of a sudden I found a new item in my blog stats: subscribers. I have had the RSS feed always available and and curious to know why this suddenly has appeared. Is it listing people who are receiving my blog via RSS? I want to make it available via email, I am learning feedburner is the way to do this. I know I have readers that are unfamiliar with RSS, so email seems to be a good option. Is it worth it and do I just go to feedburner to learn more?

  Thanks very much, I now have it where others can subscribe for email updates. So is the subscriber stat for the RSS? I am just wondering why it became part of my stats today.

  It’s a brand new (ish) feature… I’m sure WP will have an announcement about it soon.

  I don’t thing the stats are for RSS, just for the blog subscription by email thing.

  …it would make sense for the numbers to be generated through people clicking on the ‘subscribe’ widget buttons on most blogs.

  There’s also a new thing that keeps track of the “Totals”

  …they may be new, but it’s possible I just never noticed before.
