Subscribers

    All my friends who subscribe, including my wife, are not listed under Users-Subscribers but people who pass through with a temporary email are listed ….how come?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    Is this for oldmansquawking.com? That is not a WordPress.com site, but a self-hosted site using the WordPress.org software. People who subscribe via the Jetpack plugin won’t be listed under Subscribers in the dashboard. Those you should be able to view via your Stats page instead.

    The people you see under Users ->Subscribers are only people you invited via Users ->Add new

    thanks for your time and efforts…yep..its for oldmansquawking….
    I am really at a technical loss here…aside from setting up the site somewhat luckily I’m not sure where or what I am…..thanks for clarifying though

    From the Cpanel in Bluehost I find Databases and Files but not “Stats” to access and in Word Press Tools I can’t find “Stats” or any list of subscribers.

    Just for my own info….why do people sign on as Users with ephemeral emails and never involve themselves?

    That site is connected here using the Jetpack plugin, so your site stats are here on WordPress.com even while your site itself isn’t. You should be able to view your stats and your Jetpack subscribers who signed up via the form in your sidebar here:

    From my knowledge of self-hosted WordPress the only way someone can become a user on your site is if you invited them. I’m not aware of a way for people to sign up themselves as subscribers in the dashboard of the site. But I don’t work with self-hosted WordPress sites so my knowledge of them are limited. The self-hosted forums should be in a better position to help you with this question :)
