subscribers but no views?

I started here around 3 years ago, stopped, and just came back within the last few days. I have notifications that I have new subscribers since I restarted, but no page views. Is there some way to subscribe without looking at anything, or is this a glitch?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If your followers read by email or in the Reader, you will not see a “view” in your stats.

Our stats are not real time stats. The data is cached and takes hours to update. See here for more on stats > http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/Likes and shares are misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can read, “like” and “share” your posts in several locations such as in email and the Reader without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat.
You can control the length of the entry sent out on your RSS feed here > Settings > Reading and choose the “summary” setting for your RSS feed or the “full text”. If you set it to summary then visitors have to click into the blog to read the full post.
