Subscribers erased

  I have a self-hosted WP blog. But WP.com subscribers have signed up for notification using the WP.com subscriber feature.

  I had approximately 80 subscribers to my blog via the subscriber notification feature. When I visited the subscriber page I noted that they all had disappeared. Can I find out what happened? And why? And whether they can be retrieved?
