Subscribers see text instead of Contact Form

My followers/subcribers are sent emails which do not show a contact form correctly. This is what appears on their email:
    [contact-form to='(email visible only to moderators and staff)' subject='Lewes History Group Trips'][contact-field label='Name' type='name' required='1'/][contact-field label='Email' type='email' required='1'/][contact-field label='Enquiry' type='textarea' required='1'/][/contact-form]

The form shows up fine on the post itself.

Is this something that can be fixed?

    many thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I see that the email has been redacted above. In the emails sent to my followers, the email address is not redacted.

    Hi there,

Thanks for letting us know about that! I reported this issue to our developers to see if we can remove that contact form shortcode from the emails that go out to your followers. I’ll let you know what I find out from them.

In the meantime, you may want to try using the More Tag in the posts that end with a contact form. You can put that “More” tag just before the contact form, so instead of seeing the contact form code your email subscribers will see a link in their email encouraging them to click to see the rest of the post (including the form).

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

    OK, thanks, good work around.

Just to clarify – “if we can remove that contact form shortcode from the emails ” – do you mean they will not be able to show the form itself on the email? The email can only show the code, or nothing?

It’s unlikely that we’ll be able to show the form itself in the email, due to the limitations of what kind of code can be used and displayed in emails. I’ve asked our developers what options there are, but mostly likely the email will end up showing nothing or just a placeholder indicating that there’s a form there if the reader clicks through to view the post.

    Hi there,

Our developers were able to make it so that contact form shortcode won’t show up in emails that go out to your subscribers. However, as I suspected, they had to remove it entirely — there isn’t a way to show the form in the email. You may want to keep using that “More” tag to encourage your subscribers to click through and see the contact form directly on your blog.

Please let me know if there’s anything more I can do to help! :)

OK, thank you very much for dealing with this Rachel.
