subscribers without internet access

  I have friends who do not have access to the internet although they do have email access. They would like to receive email updates but when i send them an invitation to my blog, they can’t confirm their wish to receive the emails – as they don’t have internet access. what can i do to resolve this?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Wow, that is an interesting question and I’m not sure what can be done on that. You might have to subscribe yourself and then forward to your friends that do not have normal internet access.

  That’s a tricky situation.

  In this case, they’ll have to send the confirmation link to you so that you can click it for them. Just make sure that you’re logged out of your WordPress.com account when you do it.

  @thesacredpath – thanks for this workaround though it’s not incredibly professional.
  staff-blorbo – I guess that would work, and thanks for the tip about logging out.

  I was hoping someone would suggest an email account that they can write to, something like “send a blank message to “subscribe@……wordpress.com”” and that would sign ’em up!

  Do you have ability to create email forwarding addresses somewhere?
  If you’re able to create yourself a special-purpose email account and then subscribe and confirm that to your blog, you could then change that email account into an email forwarding account containing the list of your friends’ email addresses.

  @edwinridout: thank you. Interesting idea.
  Most of my friends have strong religious convictions and large families. As such, they do not wish to have the open invitation to view whatever comes up when you click a link on the web, so they have set up some sort of thing that delivers them their email while blocking the internet. In theory they could have internet access too but they’ve deliberately made that inaccessible.
