subscribe.wordpress.com page only in english for non registred wordpress users

    Hello,

I’m french and I used Google translate as I don’t speak fluently english.

I first posted on the french forum, but it appears it’s not a translation problem. So I take a chance on this forum, as the moderator told me.

I have consulted the french forum before posting, and my problem is reported several times, a translation status “current” is supposed to fix the problem. Unfortunately it seems that this is not fixed for users who do not have WordPress account.

    Problem description:
When subscribing to the blog, via the base widget “Subscribe to the blog,” the first mail subscription confirmation is received in French.
But the link “Confirm subscription” refers to the subscribe.wordpress.com page, which appears in English for those who do not have a WordPress account.
There is no problem for WordPress users, as this page displays well in the language specified in their profile.
So the translation of this page exists in French. The problem is not there.

For people who do not have WordPress account, the page appears entirely in English:
    “Subscription Management
Log in to your WordPress.com account to more easily manage your subscriptions. Don’t have an account? Create one here.
This is the management page for following blogs. You will receive an email at xxxxxx whenever a new post is made on these sites. Unfollow a blog to stop receiving emails from that blog. Go to Settings to stop receiving all emails from WordPress.com.”

It’s not really easy for people who are not fluent in English to understand that their registration is ok and they have nothing else to do but to close this page.

Moreover, they then receive an email confirmation of registration, which is again entirely in English.
The subject line is “[Subscribe] Confirmed Subscription to Posts on xxx”.
    The content is :
“Congratulations, you are now subscribed to the site xxxxx and will receive an email notification when a new post is made.”

If you click on “Manage Subscriptions” or “Unsubscribe” without a WordPress user account, you come back to the page subscribe.wordpress.com, always in English.

I understand that technically it’s probably not easy to program the display in French of the subscription management page, if there is no information about user preferences.
But the original email is in French, is there any way to detect it and to force the display in the same language? (knowing that the translation exists, as it is displayed correctly for WordPress users)

Thank you in advance for any information or experiences you could give on this subject.

    Hi telvelo!

    Thanks for your suggestion.
I submitted a request to our team for adding language detection on logged-out subscribe.wordpress.com section.
I currently don’t have any information on the timing when this will be implemented, but I’ll share if I have any updates in the future.
